Honors Program in Sociology

The Honors Program in Sociology consists of two linked, sequential courses which students begin in the first semester of their senior year. These courses, SOCI 480 and SOCI 481, culminate in the preparation of a substantive reserach paper and the presentation of its findings to the seminar participants. In order to be eligible for the Honors Program, a student must be a Sociology major with both an overall and a departmental GPA of at leat 3.5, and must have completed 75 hours (a minimum of 15 in Sociology) by the end of the semester of application.
